Sagebrush Crafts is a small, family business located in the high desert of eastern Oregon where sagebrush is a ubiquitous shrub. We specialize in homemade soap, natural skin care, candles and gifts. Our skin care products are designed specifically for sensitive skin but can be used by all skin types. All of our products are uniquely handcrafted in small batches by our family and are not mass produced.

We make soap, shampoo bars, moisturizers, and lip balm using high quality, all vegetable ingredients. They are suitable for every member of your family and also make caring gifts. We also make fragrant, long lasting votive and container candles in many scents. They make your home feel cozy and inviting, and also make a nice gift for any occasion. All of our products are homemade from scratch by our family.

Our candles are designed to burn cleanly and completely with proper usage. Trimming the wick to 1/4 inch will enable the candle to burn cleanly with no soot. Recommended burn times are 2-3 hours for votive candles and 3-4 hours for container candles. Shorter burns will not give the candle sufficient time to melt completely on top, resulting in leftover wax. Longer burns will shorten the life of the candle, and may cause the container to overheat and crack. Votives must be burned in a snug fitting votive holder, in order for them to burn completely.

Our lotion is an all-in-one moisturizer for daily use on face, hands, and body. We formulated it with mild and gentle ingredients which are helpful in relieving dry, itchy, or irritated skin. Its light yet rich texture will moisturize your skin without feeling greasy. It is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

Our emollient lip balms are designed to moisturize and condition dry lips with no waxy feel. They are all natural with no artificial fragrance or color added. We use plant essential oils to lightly flavor them. Our lip balm can also be used as a cuticle cream or salve for minor cuts and scrapes.

Our superfatted soap and shampoo bars are all natural with no artificial fragrance or color added. We use plant essential oils and herbs to naturally scent and color them. Superfatting makes them extra mild and gentle, so that they are ideal for sensitive skin. To make them last longer, keep them away from standing water and allow them to dry when not in use.

We make our soap the traditional way by the cold process method. This involves blending vegetable oils with lye that has been dissolved in water. As the ingredients combine, a chemical reaction called saponification takes place, resulting in five parts soap and one part glycerin. The finished soap is left to cure for 4-6 weeks to ensure that it is mild and gentle enough even for sensitive skin.

Our soap contains glycerin, unlike commercial soap where the glycerin is extracted during the manufacturing process and sold to other industries such as lotion makers. We use only natural ingredients, unlike commercial soap which contains synthetic detergents and additives which may be harsh and irritating to your skin.

Our skin care products are made fresh with natural ingredients. To reap their benefits, they should be used while fresh and are not intended for long term storage. For best results, use within six months of purchase.
